Brothers Jim Sheridan to Attend Exclusive IFTA Preview Screening of Brothers

Six time Oscar® nominated Irish director Jim Sheridan (My Left Foot, In the Name of the Father) will attend an exclusive IFTA preview screening of his latest feature film Brothers in Dublin on Thursday 19 November 2009.  The acclaimed filmmaker will participate in a post screening Q&A with Irish Film & Television Academy Members.
IFTA Call for Entries 7th Annual Irish Film & Television Awards

The call for entries for the 7th Annual Irish Film & Television Awards is now open. Submissions are invited for categories in film, television, shorts and animation. The deadline for submissions is Monday, November 23rd at 5.30pm.
Music Forum IFTA Academy Puts Music Centre Stage

The Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTA) is delighted to announce the inaugural IFTA Music Forum, focusing on Music for the Moving Image, will take place in Dublin on 4 September 2009.
As part of the Academy’s dedication to promoting and encouraging excellence within the Irish film and television industry, the Music Forum will act as a veritable think tank for directors, producers, musicians and composers - exploring the possibilities and practicalities around the business of music composition for the screen.
Kings 'Kings' Official Irish Selection for Best Foreign Language Film

IFTA, The Irish Film and Television Academy today announced that Tom Collins’ ‘Kings’ starring Colm Meaney, Donal O’Kelly and Brendan Conroy has been officially selected by an independent IFTA jury for submission to the 80th ACADEMY AWARD(S)®, for the ‘Best Foreign Language Film’ category.
Pierce Brosnan Brosnan 'Honoured beyond words' to join IFTA

Irish actor Pierce Brosnan is just one of the many new members of the Irish Film & Television Academy to show overwhelming support for the initiative. Brosnan recently contacted Academy CEO Aine Moriarty upon receiving his Lifetime Membership of the Academy, stating "I am honoured beyond words...”
