Irish Academy Congratulates Members Nominated for BAFTA Television Awards

The BAFTA Television Award nominations have been announced with Irish actors James Nesbitt, Stephen Rea and Brendan O Carroll all getting nods for their work this year.

James Nesbitt was nominated in the category of Leading Actor for his critically acclaimed turn as the father of an abducted boy in the highly praised BBC Drama 'The Missing' while Stephen Rea was nominated for Supporting Actor for his role in the political spy thriller series 'The Honourable Woman'.

Rural Irish comedy 'Moone Boy' - which is co-created by Nick Vincent Murphy and Chris O Dowd - continued its Awards form (in the past 12 months the show has won an International Emmy and an IFTA) by getting a nomination for Best Situation Comedy.

Brendan O Carroll received a nomination also for Best Male Performance in a Comedy Programme for 'Mrs Brown's Boys Christmas Special' while Graham Norton got a nomination for Best Entertainment Performance with his BBC talk show 'The Graham Norton Show' getting nominated in the category of Best Comedy and Comedy Entertainment Programme.

The British Academy Television Awards will take place on Sunday, 10th May.
