A graduate of TCD and RADA Tom is an award winning theatre actor, best known for the role of Nidge over five seasons on the Irish TV Drama Love/Hate, and is known internationally for his role as Ebony Maw in Avengers: Infinity War and the sequel Avengers: Endgame. Other notable roles include Becoming Jane, The Tiger's Tail, the IFTA-winning short film Foxes and playing political advisor PJ Mara in the RTÉ TV Drama Charlie. Vaughan Lawlor has previously won Best Supporting Actor and Best Actor IFTA's for his work on Love/Hate.
In 2013, Tom appeared in BBC series Peaky Blinders as Malacki Byrne.
Tom won the IFTA Award for Best Actor in a Lead Role - Film in 2020 for his performance in Rialto. More Recently Tom Starred alongside Siobhan Cullen in the Bright side ,a film directed by Ruth Meehan. In 2025 Tom was nominated in two IFTA categories. Tom starred in Disney plus Drama Say Nothing where he played Brendan Hughes which won him an IFTA for supporting actor in a Drama. Tom was also nominated in the supporting actor in a Film category for his performance in the film Baltimore.
