He may be fat and he may not have the usual, reserved BBC tone. But this 34 year old broadcaster has already won 2 national RTS Awards for his no holds-barred broadcasting style. The public have responded by supporting what they see as a real, authentic broadcaster. Nolan's ability to turn from a skilled, penetrating political interviewer to light entertainer is what sets him apart from the rest.

Michelle Doherty is a relative newcomer to television presenting. However in the two years that she has been hosting Night Shift on Channel 6 the show has developed a loyal nightly following. Through a combination of great music and Michelle’s relaxed but informative style - Hot Press readers have voted Night Shift the best music show on television. A native of Malin, Co Donegal, Michelle also is one of Ireland’s favourite models – having been with the Morgan agency since 1999.

Kathy’s lifelong media career includes radio, journalism, PR and television. Equally comfortable on both sides of the camera, she has worked home and abroad with a diverse range of stars and prolific individuals from print, stage, screen and sport including Sean Connery, Eddie Jordan, Michael Schumacher, Laurence L Bowen and Diarmuid Gavin. She is also an accomplished writer on property and interiors for several glossy magazines and a national newspaper.

At the age of 20 Kathryn presented her first TV show, Rapid with Jason Sherlock. Rapid was on air for three years and as a fast moving sports show Kathryn did everything from abseiling to windsurfing. After Rapid, she presented The Memorizer, a children’s quiz show before landing the job what for many is the dream job as presenter on No Frontiers. She has also presented the St Patrick’s Day’s Festival, as well as the IFTA Red Carpet Show.

Paul Dempsey
Setanta Sports

Paul Dempsey presents live Premier League, Champions League and boxing on Setanta Sports. He was also in the hotseat for Setanta’s Rugby World Cup coverage in 2007. Dublin native Paul made his name in the UK, where his broadcasting career spanned two decades. He returned to Ireland in 2006 to sit in the Setanta presenter’s chair and he now lives in Dublin with his wife Jill and daughters Yvette and Chantal. Paul graduated from Cambridge in 1982 and has played professional soccer in England, Ireland, France and Switzerland.

Síle Ní Bhraonáin
TG4

Síle hails from Indreabhan in Co. Galway and she has been working with TG4 since March 2002. Síle has always been interested in television work, so she applied for a screen test with TG4 and was successful. She started off as a weather and continuity presenter on the station and her main ambition was to host an entertainment or music programme, this dream was realised in 2005 when Síle presented her own show called Síle.

Lorraine Keane has reported from the most exclusive backstage parties, movie premieres, rock concerts, festivals and fashion shows and interviewed the biggest and brightest stars for TV3 News since 1998. Lorraine is from Dublin and joined the TV3 News team from her position as Manager of AA Roadwatch and currently fronts TV3’s entertainment series XPOSÉ. Lorraine studied Broadcasting and Journalism at Ballyfermot Senior College and holds a H Dip in Public Relations. Lorraine is married to Rock musician Peter Devlin and has 2 daughters Emelia and Romy.

Julian Simmons
UTV

Undoubtedly one of Ireland’s most dynamic and charismatic personalities; Julian has become a legend in his own lifetime with his cheeky off-the-wall introductions for Coronation Street. In addition to introducing shows, Julian is a gifted comedian who also presents his Soap Watch regularly on UTV Life. He recently took viewers on a nostalgic look through the UTV archives in a six part series, UTV Rewind, on Friday nights.
