What are the eligibility dates for broadcast of a TV show or screening of a film?
Eligibility dates for all categories are 1st January 2012 – 31st January 2013 . Within this timeframe, your project must be either (a) televised or (b) screened to a paying audience (i.e. festival, theatrical releases, etc) or released on DVD to purchase or rent either in Ireland or internationally for the first time. For titles that will be screened for the first time between the submission deadline November 20th and 31st January 2012. Please contact IFTA (submissions@ifta.ie) directly for specific Submission Guidelines.
Can I submit Irish people who have worked on International titles screened during the eligibility period?
Definitely. The Awards celebrate Irish talent working worldwide as well as at home. Actors, Directors, DoPs, Designers, Editors, etc - all are eligible, however, 'crafts' people must be HODs.
Can I enter a non-Irish person involved in an Irish project?
The nominated person must be either (1) born in Ireland, (2) have Irish citizenship, or (3) be, or have been, a full-time resident in Ireland a minimum of three years.
If I entered my film / project last year, can I enter it again this year?
No, you can only enter your film or project in one particular year for the Irish Film & Television Awards.
My title is in the Irish Language? Is it eligible?
Irish language entries are eligible in all categories however any DVD copies submitted for competition must be supplied with English subtitles. If you would like your submission to be put forward for the Special Irish language Award please indicate on the Entry Form. There is no extra submission fee required.
When is the deadline for entries?
3pm GMT Tuesday 20th November 2012 - Entry Form/Online Submission, Payment, Biography, Synopsis, Credits must be received by this date.
DVD's must be delivered to IFTA by Friday 23rd November 2012 to Irish Film & Television Awards, Third Floor, 17-19 Hatch Street Lower, Dublin 2, Ireland. Absolutely NO late entries will be accepted.
What episode should I submit on DVD if it's a TV Series?
For Television Series being submitted, please submit one episode on DVD that best represents the project. You can submit different episodes for different categories (i.e. if you are submitting for Drama Series, Actor, Director, Costume, Editing etc.)

Once I have sent in my DVDs- can I get them back?
No DVD submissions will not be returned.
I don't have contact details for every person I am entering - e.g. Production Design category and Costume Design category. Can I just give you the production company contact details?
No. Along with the production company details, you are required to provide current and correct contact details for each nominated person - telephone and e-mail. IFTA organisers must receive these details so that, as well as continuing to liaise with the principal contact/submitter, we can contact all nominees directly once the shortlist has been announced and right through to the Awards Ceremony itself. If you do not have the full contact details at the time of sending in your submission, please get them to us as soon as possible.
Can I e-mail you my entry form?
No, we must receive an original completed and signed entry form.

Can I submit more than one person?
Only one person can be submitted for consideration for each category with the exception of:
Film: 2 individuals can be submitted,
Acting categories where more than one actor can be submitted per title,
Hair & Make-up for which there can be a maximum of two individuals submitted (HoD for Hair, HoD for Make Up),
Sound (which is a team award) for which there can be a maximum of three names submitted (covering Location Sound, Sound Mixing, and Sound Editing/Design),

Can I enter my programme into more than one television genre category? E.g. Best Sports and Documentary?
No. A TV programme may only be entered into ONE genre category only (i.e. Entertainment, Single Documentary, Documentary Series, Sport, Factual Entertainment, Children's, News, Current Affairs For example, you can enter either Best Sports or Best Documentary but not both.
How do I go about suggesting someone for the HONOURARY Award? Who decides on that?
The Academy Board will decide to present a Lifetime Achievement Award if they feel there are deserving recipients; this award shall not necessarily be awarded each year. If you would like to suggest someone please contact us submissions@ifta.ie
How can I buy tickets for the ceremony?
You can register your interest in purchasing tickets for the Irish Film & Television Awards Ceremony via the online ticket registration form.
Return of this form does not guarantee ticket availability - you will be contacted by IFTA organisers to confirm your booking if you are successful in your application. Names of your guests must be provided once the booking has been confirmed. Please note: This is an industry event, and therefore not open to the public. Ticket requests will only be considered after the short listed nominees have been announced.
