    Academy Member

Born in Dungarven, Waterford on the 11th December 1987, Moe Dunford is perhaps best known for his performance as Aethelwulf in the hit television series Vikings. Upon graduating from the Gaeity School of Acting in 2009, Moe worked on some of television’s finest dramas including The Tudors and Game of Thrones.

In 2014, Moe received his first IFTA nomination and first win for his breakout performance in Terry Mcmahon’s St Patrick’s Day. Two nominations and another win later, Moe is one of Ireland’s busiest actors starring in top Irish films such as Handsome Devil, Michael Inside and Black 47.

In 2016, Moe received his second IFTA Awards, this time for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in Drama for his role in Vikings as Aethelwulf. In 2022, he won the IFTA Award for Best Actor in a Lead Role - Film for Nightride.

He plays Jack on IFTA-winning series The Dry.
