  10/11/2005 Awards Are A Resounding Success for Irish Film & Television Industry
Over 1100 guests turned out at the RDS on Saturday night (5th November) to celebrate outstanding achievement within the Irish Film and television industry. Irish audiences tuned in in their thousands to watch the live show hosted by the quick witted actor James Nesbitt. The live television show attracted an audience of 645,000 viewers, with an average at 587,000 throughout the programme (44.3% audience share) - the highest ratings to date.

The RDS will come alive on Saturday November 5th, for the Irish Film & Television Awards 2005. Hollywood Starlet Mischa Barton will take to the Red Carpet along with a host of Irish and International Style Icons to celebrate outstanding Irish talent. The always elegant red carpet veterans Sinéad Cusack and Oscar award winning actress Vanessa Redgrave are also confirmed to attend. Also stepping out on Saturday night will be Andrea Corr, Samantha Mumba, Orla Brady, Eva Birthistle, Tatianna Ouliankina, Renee Weldon, Kerry Katona, Caprice, Gráinne Seoige, Aoife Ní Thuairisg, Coronation Street star Sally Lindsay, Aisling O’Sullivan, Rachel Pilkington, Caroline Morahan, Pamela Flood, Kathryn Thomas, Rosanna Davison and many more.
