Rewind, a new Irish feature film, opens in cinemas across Ireland on Friday, March 25th.

The feature sees actress Amy Huberman’s IFTA winning performance as Karen, a recovering addict, who has forged a new life for herself in a rural town with her husband Brendan, played by Owen McDonnell (Single Handed) and young daughter. However, an old boyfriend of Karen’s (played by Allen Leech - Downton Abbey), arrives in town out of the blue, bringing with him memories of Karen’s shady past, invading and shattering her new idyllic life.

Fearful that Karl will jeopardise her family by revealing details about her past, Karen reluctantly agrees to take a trip with him to meet another old acquaintance who Karl claims has evidence that could compromise them both. Nothing is as it seems, but the past will be buried one way or another.

“We worked so hard on it, it was a labour of love for all of us.
PJ, you’re fantastic!”

Rewind marks director PJ Dillon’s first foray into feature film directing. The filmmaker is no stranger to IFTA wins having scooped two over the years for his cinematography work, namely for The Runway at this year’s ceremony and 32A (2004). PJ was also nominated in previous years for his cinematography work on Kings (2007) and Timbuktu (2004) and his short An Ranger received a Best Short Film nomination in 2008.

Rewind is one of three films that came about as a result of the Irish Film Board’s Catalyst initiative where a maximum budget of €275,000 was awarded to each project.
