This week Irish distributor Element Pictures Distribution announced the Irish theatrical release dates of two IFTA nominated feature films - Ripple World Pictures Parked and Blinder Films Irish/Dutch co-production Sensation.

Parked looks forward to a release date on October 14th and Sensation on November 4th 2011.

Directed by Darragh Byrne (Mixed Blessings), Parked follows the story of Fred Daly (Colm Meaney). Recently returned to Ireland and living in his car, Fred meets dope-smoking Cathal (Colin Morgan) who brightens up his lonely world. Encouraged by Cathal, Fred meets an attractive music teacher Jules (Milka Ahlroth), and together the three outsiders are set on a course that will change there lives forever.

Produced by IFTA Members Jacqueline Kerrin and Dominic Wright, and written by IFTA Member Ciaran Creagh, Parked received four Awards nominations in February this year and was also jointly awarded ‘Best First Feature’ at the Galway Film Fleadh 2011, at which it was the opening film.

Sensation was also acknowledged at the 2011 IFTA Awards, with director and IFTA Member Tom Hall being nominated in the category of Best Director (Film). The feature stars IFTA Member Domhnall Gleeson, who won the 2011 IFTA Award for Best Actor in a Lead Role in Television for his performance in the TV drama When Harvey Met Bob.

In Sensation, Domhnall Gleeson plays sad man-child farmer Donal Duggan, who is numb to life, empty of kindness and aching with lust. But when Donal meets Kiwi sex-worker Kim (Luanne Gordon), a soulless contract develops into a thwarted romance and finally a story of hard-won self-discovery.

Parked will be released on October 14th and Sensation will be released on November 4th 2011.
